Chapter 1 The Twin Wives
“Husband, you’ve finally woken up.”
“Husband, we’re sorry. It’s all our fault, the two of us. These days, we’ll take good care of you.”
Chen Fan gazed at the beautiful, enchanting twins before him, a look of confusion flickering in his eyes.
“Husband?”
“Wasn’t I the King of Special Forces in China, carrying out a covert mission?”
Just then, a splitting headache seized him, as if countless memories were being forced into his mind.
“I’ve crossed over.”
After a while, these words surfaced in Chen Fan’s mind.
He now found himself in a country called Great Xia, a dynasty that had never existed in history.
The twins before him were his wives, assigned by the state.
It turned out that Great Xia had far more women than men, a low birth rate, so the state enforced a policy granting wives to all suitable young men.
If one bore a son, there would be rewards.
“What are your names?” Chen Fan asked curiously.
“Husband, I am Su Yingchun.”
“Husband, I am Su Yingxia.”
The two women spoke in turn.
Even the slightest movement or smile was identical, making them utterly captivating.
To possess a pair of exquisite twin sisters as wives—surely every man’s dream.
Having just crossed over, Chen Fan had achieved what all men dreamed of, and should have been delighted.
Yet at this moment, as he looked at the delicate, flower-like twins before him, his face was clouded with worry.
Yingchun and Yingxia were daughters of Su Yi, a wealthy merchant in Anyang County.
The most powerful minister of the realm, Chancellor Fan Zeng, heeded the advice of a diviner and decided to move the ancestral tomb of the Fan family.
Fan Zeng dispatched men across the country to seek an auspicious site.
In the end, he set his sights on the Su family’s ancestral tomb and demanded they vacate it for the Fan family.
Su Yi refused.
The Fan family’s people threatened them, giving the Sus five days; if they did not comply, they would bear the consequences.
To offend the Fan family would mean not only losing their home, but perhaps even their lives.
As Su Yi’s son-in-law, Chen Fan would surely be implicated.
The previous Chen Fan had fainted upon hearing this news, thus allowing the modern Chen Fan, who had crossed over, to seize the opportunity.
“Growl, growl.”
“Growl, growl.”
As Chen Fan pondered, the stomachs of Yingchun and Yingxia suddenly rumbled.
The sound made both women blush deeply and lower their heads in embarrassment.
“Did you not eat at all today?” Chen Fan asked.
The two women nodded slightly.
“We... we don’t know how,” Yingxia whispered timidly.
Both had been pampered since childhood, always served, never having to cook.
Seeing their helplessness, Chen Fan felt a pang of sympathy.
“I’ll do it,” he said, rising to prepare a meal.
For Chen Fan, raised in the countryside, cooking and tending a fire was no challenge.
Hearing him, Yingchun and Yingxia looked utterly ashamed.
They felt guilty for having brought trouble upon Chen Fan, and now even making him cook for them.
When Chen Fan saw that the household had only half a bowl of rice and half a cabbage left, he felt awkward.
The Chen family, though a modest landowner in Donghua Village with a rice shop in the county town, was still fairly well off—not as rich as the Sus, but comfortable.
Chen Fan’s misfortune stemmed from losing his parents soon after birth.
His grandmother, believing him unlucky, drove him to live in this dilapidated house at the edge of the village.
“Husband, why don’t we make cabbage porridge? We sisters love porridge,” Yingchun suggested, sensing Chen Fan’s predicament.
She gave Yingxia a meaningful glance.
“Yes... that’s right, we love porridge,” Yingxia added.
To drink plain porridge on his wedding night—this left Chen Fan feeling bitter.
“Husband, this porridge tastes wonderful,” Yingchun said exaggeratedly after taking a sip.
She lightly tapped Yingxia under the table.
Yingxia followed suit, trying her best to echo her sister.
“Indeed, your cooking is amazing, husband,” she said, though her furrowed brow gave her away.
Chen Fan knew the sisters were accustomed to delicacies at the Su family and would find the bland cabbage soup hard to swallow.
Their efforts to comfort him made Chen Fan’s heart ache even more.
Who wouldn’t cherish such understanding wives—especially when they were twins?
“Don’t worry. Since you’ve chosen to be with me, starting tomorrow, you’ll have meat at every meal.”
“And I’ll help solve the Su family’s predicament.”
Chen Fan spoke with determined resolve.
He refused to believe that, as a King of Special Forces who brought with him five thousand years of civilization, he couldn’t handle these problems.
Yet the two women’s eyes were filled with doubt.
“Husband, it’s getting late. Shall we enter the bridal chamber?” Yingchun whispered, face flushed.
Playful Yingxia blushed as well, nervously looking at Chen Fan.
Their shy, alluring demeanor made Chen Fan’s heart stir restlessly.
“Very well!” Without hesitation, Chen Fan embraced them and led them to the bed.
As the candle was extinguished, the room was filled with sounds that would make anyone blush.
...
The next morning.
Chen Fan looked at the traces of crimson on the bedsheet.
He glanced at Yingchun sleeping on his left, then at Yingxia on his right.
Both women’s faces still carried the exhaustion of sleep.
Recalling last night’s conquest, with the women begging for mercy, Chen Fan couldn’t help but smile.
Perhaps the heavens had compensated him, for upon crossing over, he was especially vigorous in that respect.
Looking at the lingering blush on Yingchun and Yingxia, Chen Fan’s hands became restless.
He reached out and began to caress their bare bodies.
“Husband, why are you up so early?” Yingchun and Yingxia were awakened by Chen Fan’s touch.
Under his hands, their faces grew redder, their breathing heavier.
“Let’s have another round,” Chen Fan said with a mischievous grin.
He felt not only stronger, but more insatiable than ever.
Hearing this, the sisters’ faces filled with fear.
“Husband, our bodies feel as if they’re falling apart. Let us rest a bit first!”
“Husband, you’re too formidable. My sister and I can’t endure anymore.”
The twins pleaded for mercy.
Yet, under Chen Fan’s hands, their gazes gradually became dazed.
“Chen Fan, you bastard! Get out here and greet me!”
Just as Chen Fan was about to make another move, a shrill voice rang out from outside.
