Everyone knew that once Jack Chen Law Firm took on a case, the outcome was no longer in doubt.

The result was exactly as those in the legal profession had expected: the case was closed at an extraordinary speed.

The evidence Rafael had gathered left no room for anyone to argue.

The only person who tried was Larry, the shameless team doctor.

He had prepared several pages of arguments in his own defense.

But faced with Rafael’s overwhelming evidence, the New York court did not even bother to read Larry’s statement!

That devil belonged in hell!

With both witnesses and physical evidence, and with the chain of proof complete, the New York court found Larry guilty on the spot.

He was sentenced to sixty years in prison!

As more and more victims continued to come forward and expose Larry’s sexual abuse, his sentence might well be extended.

At the same time, the university where Larry had worked announced that it agreed to pay nearly five hundred million dollars in compensation to the hundreds of victims sexually abused by its former campus doctor.

Rafael became famous overnight, following in Adams’s footsteps.

Unlike Adams, however, Rafael did not choose to establish his own firm. He remained at Chen Siyuan’s Jack Chen Law Firm.

He was no longer Chen Siyuan’s junior assistant, but a senior attorney with an office of his own.

To everyone else, this was a momentous event.

To Chen Siyuan, however, it was nothing out of the ordinary.

He had sent a devil to hell, yet it had not stirred even the slightest ripple in Chen Siyuan’s heart.

“Old con artist, your eldest grandson is about to be born. Aren’t you going to take a look?”

Chen Siyuan sat beside the old man, eyeing him with a lazy, insolent air.

The old man glanced at him. “Isn’t the due date still a few days away? What are you rushing for?”

“Due dates aren’t always accurate. Maybe your eldest grandson wants to come out a little early!”

Chen Siyuan raised an eyebrow with a grin.

“Don’t worry. I’ll go when my eldest grandson is born.”

The old man rarely allowed a smile to appear on his face.

“Old man, why don’t you go over ahead of time? It’s not as though there’s nowhere for you to stay.”

For once, Chen Siyuan did not argue with him.

“No need to make such a fuss. I can go when the time comes.”

The old man spoke mysteriously, looking utterly confident in his arrangements.

“Suit yourself. Just don’t miss it.”

Chen Siyuan slapped his backside and prepared to leave.

“Oh, right, old con artist. Your junior disciple accepted my daughter as her student and gave her a precious jade pendant. Your beloved eldest grandson is about to be born. Have you decided what gift you’re going to give him?”

Just before Chen Siyuan left, he suddenly tried to wring some benefit out of the old man.

The old man snorted. “Little con artist, I told you long ago not to play tricks in front of me. What I give my eldest grandson is none of your concern!”

“Old con artist, I’m only worried that you’ll be shown up by my aunt. You’re the boy’s god-grandfather, after all. Some random trinket won’t be impressive enough to present!”

Chen Siyuan put on an expression of pure concern for the old man.

The old man was not fooled. “Get lost, get lost! Stop obstructing my view. Go home and keep your wife company!”

Chen Siyuan rose and stretched before slowly making his way outside.

Only when he reached the door did he turn around and say, “Old con artist, the paperwork for this broken old courtyard had some problems. Legally speaking, it wasn’t actually your property. But I took care of it for you a few days ago. No one without sense will come bothering you again.”

“Hmph!”

The old man snorted.

The corners of Chen Siyuan’s mouth lifted slightly as he turned and walked out.

Back at the house in Douglas Town, all the preparations had been completed.

Originally, Chen Siyuan had planned to have the private medical team move in, but now they were merely a backup option.

He had gone to Chinatown specifically to make inquiries, and just as Yu Qingqing had said, she had delivered the babies of many wealthy families.

Moreover, during this period, Yu Qingqing had earned the trust of both Chen Siyuan and Liu Xiaoli.

Thus, Yu Qingqing would also deliver the child in Liu Xiaoli’s womb.

Naturally, to guard against any unforeseen circumstances, Chen Siyuan still had the private medical team on standby around the clock.

All Chen Siyuan had to do these days was stay by Liu Xiaoli’s side and keep her in good spirits.

That was Yu Qingqing’s only demand of him.

She did not need Chen Siyuan to interfere in anything else.

Nicole Kidman, on the other hand, had been turned into Yu Qingqing’s personal errand girl.

And yet Nicole was enjoying every minute of it. She even dreamed that once Yu Qingqing was in a good mood, she might teach her a trick or two.

Ever since Liu Yifei had mastered sword dancing and taken on the appearance of an immortal descended into the mortal world, Nicole Kidman had been green with envy.

“Siyuan, you’re not going to work tomorrow,” Yu Qingqing suddenly told Chen Siyuan over dinner.

Chen Siyuan froze, then burst into delight. “Auntie, is Xiaoli going to give birth tomorrow?”

Liu Xiaoli, sitting beside him, also looked anxiously toward Yu Qingqing.

This was not Liu Xiaoli’s first child, so she had some experience.

She, too, could feel that the birth was only a few days away.

Yu Qingqing nodded. “The baby is moving very strongly now. It should be tomorrow.”

Chen Siyuan and Liu Xiaoli exchanged a look, both of them beaming.

Liu Xiaoli was happy that she was finally about to be rid of the burden. Because of this little rascal, she had not danced in ages.

Chen Siyuan was happy because no one would be stopping him and Liu Xiaoli from resuming their marital relations. His ascetic days were finally coming to an end.

“Master, when my little brother is born, are you going to teach him martial arts too? Dad is counting on him to protect me someday. Don’t let it turn out that he can’t protect me and I have to protect him instead!”

Liu Yifei gazed eagerly at Yu Qingqing. The little girl already knew how to demand benefits for her baby brother.

Yu Qingqing was not offended in the slightest. When you loved someone, everything they did seemed endearing.

“You little schemer. Your brother won’t need me to teach him. But don’t worry—his grandfather certainly won’t neglect his precious eldest grandson.”

Since Liu Xiaoli was due to give birth the next day, she went to bed early to rest and gather her strength.

She was preparing to deliver the baby.

Early the following morning, Chen Siyuan and the others began preparing according to Yu Qingqing’s arrangements.

Chen Siyuan also had the private medical team wait nearby.

It had nothing to do with trust.

It was simply a precaution.

As noon drew near, Chen Siyuan began to grow nervous.

“Auntie, it should be soon, shouldn’t it?”

“Auntie, why hasn’t anything happened yet?”

“Auntie, surely you didn’t calculate the date wrong?”

…

Chen Siyuan kept asking every so often, like a man reciting scripture.

Yu Qingqing ignored him completely.

That was how she remained until the old man arrived at Chen Siyuan’s house as well.

“Sit down. What are you panicking about? It isn’t time yet!”

The old man slapped Chen Siyuan down into a chair.

Chen Siyuan bared his teeth. The old man had put quite a bit of force into that.

Yu Qingqing nodded at the old man but still said nothing.

“Junior Sister, I’ll be counting on you in a little while.”

The old man was unusually courteous toward Yu Qingqing.

“You’re too kind, Senior Brother. I’ll go in first.”

Yu Qingqing rose and entered the makeshift delivery room.

Chen Siyuan glanced at the old man beside him and did not dare get up.

Even so, he twisted and turned restlessly, as though there were needles beneath his chair.
