Chapter 81: Sweeping Through the Dark Swamp, Fierce Battle with the Black Serpent
Yang Feng was almost unable to keep up with the Crow Warriors because they flew so quickly.
“Why doesn’t this dungeon have any boss-level monsters?”
All the way through, Yang Feng hadn’t encountered a single boss-level monster. At most, he ran into a few mutated dark tigers or lions. The Crow Warriors simply charged in and killed these dark beasts. Yang Feng didn’t even have a chance to use Fireball; by the time he arrived, the battle was already over.
This made Yang Feng feel that the Dark Swamp dungeon was even easier than the previous Greenhill Town dungeon.
However, the map of the Dark Swamp was enormous, and with forests everywhere, Yang Feng nearly got lost. He spent almost half an hour in the dungeon before finally reaching its end.
There, he saw a black swamp, beside which a few massive mutated beasts were resting.
At a glance, Yang Feng identified giant pythons, black tigers, lions, and more among the mutated creatures.
“What’s going on here?” he wondered. “Why are so many mutated beasts gathered in this spot? Could it be that these monsters have gained intelligence?”
Before him stood a group of monsters: two giant pythons, a massive black tiger, and an enormous black bear. The black tiger and black bear were especially huge, with the bear standing a full ten meters tall.
Though Yang Feng showed a trace of surprise, in his eyes, these monsters were nothing more than sources of experience points.
With a wave of his hand, the Crow Warriors charged forward without hesitation.
There was no technique to the ensuing battle—only raw, ruthless slaughter.
Yang Feng didn’t even have time to use his Detection Water Sphere before the mutated beasts lay dead under the onslaught of the Crow Warriors.
Boom!
Suddenly, a tremendous noise erupted as a massive column of water shot up from the swamp.
A huge python emerged from the depths of the swamp. Unlike ordinary pythons, this one was covered in hard, black scales that looked like armor, enveloping its entire body.
The black python opened its mouth, revealing two sharp venomous fangs. Its enormous black tail looked truly terrifying.
As it slithered out from the swamp, the black python let out an enraged roar.
[Dark Python (Boss-level Monster)]
[Level: 20]
[Combat Power: 5000]
[Speed: 4000]
[Mental Power: 3000]
[Defense: 6000]
[Skills: Constrict, Tail Whip, Venomous Fang Attack]
This black python’s defense was exceptionally high—higher even than the Crow Warriors’, and surpassing the Shark King he’d faced before.
With such high defensive stats, it was clear this python possessed tremendous vitality. Although its mental power was somewhat weak, it was not to be underestimated. Its combat power was still enough to pose a threat to the Crow Warriors.
As Yang Feng inspected the python’s stats, the Crow Warriors had already charged into battle.
Their sharp talons struck the python’s armored scales, producing a metallic clanging sound.
The black python bit down on a Crow Warrior, lashing out with its long tail. The size difference between the python and the Crow Warriors was vast; when one was struck by the python’s tail, even if it appeared unhurt, the sheer force sent the Crow Warrior flying.
The python’s tail was at least thirty meters long. Each sweep could send several Crow Warriors hurtling through the air.
The Crow Warriors soared above the black python, unleashing volleys of Feather Arrows. But its defense was so formidable that the arrows barely left a mark.
“The python’s speed and mental power are too low. No matter how high its combat power, if it can’t hit anything, it’s useless!”
As he said this, a gray light flared in Yang Feng’s palm.
Skill: Curse!
A beam of gray light struck the python, and a curse symbol appeared on its body.
Under the influence of the curse, the black python’s speed dropped dramatically, and its attacks grew sluggish.
Sensing something amiss, the python coiled itself tightly, radiating a black glow.
Skill: Constrict!
Yang Feng saw that the wounds on the python’s body were slowly healing. The Crow Warriors had managed to injure it during the fight, but now those wounds were closing.
With its high defense and the stacking effects of its skills, the python had become nearly indestructible.
“This black python must have a weakness!” Yang Feng thought.
If even the Crow Warriors couldn’t defeat it, other professions would stand no chance. How, then, had others cleared this dungeon?
Suddenly, Yang Feng realized where the problem lay: among the top three teams in the dungeon’s completion rankings, each had two or three mages.
“Could it be that the black python is weak to magic?”
With this thought, flames ignited in Yang Feng’s palm.
Skill: Fireball!
A giant fireball appeared above the black python and crashed down upon it. The python, which had been motionless, immediately writhed in agony, letting out a heart-rending scream.
Though Yang Feng was a Cursist, he was also a mage. The Crow Warriors excelled at physical attacks, while Yang Feng wielded magic. Furthermore, his innate skill allowed him to ignore the python’s defenses.
As a Cursist, Yang Feng’s attacks were even more devastating than those of ordinary mages.
Seeing the effectiveness of his attack, Yang Feng continued casting Fireball. One after another, massive fireballs rained down on the python, which shrieked in misery.
At last, the python could no longer endure and charged at Yang Feng. But the Crow Warriors blocked its path, giving it no chance to attack.
The Crow Warriors unleashed beams of black light, using their Feather Arrow skill. In an instant, countless arrows shot forth.
The black python’s body was torn and bloody, its screams growing ever more desperate.
Yang Feng kept casting Fireball, rapidly depleting his mental power. He grabbed a potion to restore his energy and drank it down, quickly replenishing his strength.
