Chapter 104: The Giant-Eyed Beast’s Ambush, Assault on the Forest Warriors
Yang Feng believed the lizard king’s demon core was quite valuable; once he returned, he could inquire about it. As for the other two pieces of silver-grade equipment, they were of little importance to him—merely something he could trade for a bit of money.
A minute after the lizard king was slain, its corpse vanished of its own accord, revealing a passageway. The crow warriors were the first to fly into the tunnel. While the entrance to the lizard’s lair led ever downward, this new corridor ascended instead.
No monsters lurked within the tunnel. Yang Feng continued upward, until the sun appeared once more. The scorching sunlight blanketed the earth again. It was still the forest, endless as before. Behind the exit lay dense woodland, with a mountain dividing the dungeon in two. To reach this place, one had to traverse the lizard’s lair.
By now, ten hours had passed since Yang Feng entered the Silent Forest dungeon. The place was vast beyond measure; most of his time had been spent searching for the way forward.
The crow warriors advanced swiftly. Yang Feng needed to hurry—every moment lost reduced his chances of claiming the demon core of the Forest King.
Suddenly, a beam of light struck Yang Feng. The Armor of Light radiated dazzling brilliance, shielding him from harm. The enemy’s attack was powerful; the Armor of Light began to shatter rapidly. Alarmed, Yang Feng retreated in haste. The next blast struck the ground, gouging out a deep crater. Another beam followed quickly.
The crow warriors formed a wall to protect Yang Feng. Following the direction of the light, Yang Feng spotted the attacker—a monster unlike any he’d ever seen.
It hovered twenty meters above the ground, a colossal sphere of light, roughly three meters in diameter. Atop the sphere was an enormous eye, occupying more than half its surface.
The monster was still over a hundred meters away, yet it attacked from such distance. With so many crow warriors present, it targeted him alone—an intriguing creature, indeed.
Seeing their master under assault, the crow warriors immediately charged forward. The beast, after two ineffective attacks, turned to flee. The crow mages had already unleashed their barrage, offering no chance for escape. Their attacks rained down like a storm, joined by Yang Feng’s probing water spheres.
Monster Name: Giant Eye Beast (Enhanced Elite Monster)
Level: 27
Combat Power: 1000
Speed: 1500
Spirit: 5000
Vitality: 2000
Defense: 2000
Skill: Ray Sniper
“So this monster is a mage type,” Yang Feng mused. Noting its high spirit stat, he recognized it as a spellcaster. Mage-type monsters were common, but he’d never encountered one like this before. The Giant Eye Beast’s offensive power was weaker than ordinary monsters, seemingly pooling all its attributes into spirit. The Ray Sniper was indeed formidable—a single shot had shattered Yang Feng’s Armor of Light.
Most crucially, its attack range was vast—over a hundred meters, and it could fly. Realizing its attacks were ineffective, it even chose to flee. It seemed this Giant Eye Beast was not easy to handle.
Unfortunately for it, Yang Feng had summoned too many crow mages, whose attacks were terrifyingly potent. Under a round of skill attacks, the Giant Eye Beast was instantly slain.
Killed Level 27 Giant Eye Beast: +50,000 experience
Obtained: Giant Eye Beast Demon Core
Primary Giant Eye Beast Demon Core: Forgemasters can use it to craft various items; Array Masters may use it to lay formations.
Yang Feng glanced at the demon core’s properties and stowed it away. It seemed useful, but its level was low. Any item rated as “primary” could only be used below level thirty. Above that was intermediate, and above sixty was advanced. Generally, aside from certain special items, primary goods carried little value.
With this experience, Yang Feng began to survey the sky. The crow warriors, as they flew, also kept watch on their surroundings. Soon, a massive structure resembling a fortress appeared before Yang Feng. Around it stood towers, forming what looked like a city. From afar, he could see countless monsters within.
At last, Yang Feng understood what the Forest King meant.
These city monsters were of various kinds, clad in sturdy armor. All gathered together, making it hard to defeat them individually. They were not ordinary monsters—every one an enhanced elite. Stronger even than monsters in difficult-mode dungeons of the same level. Even a team of fifty would struggle to overcome them, needing perfect coordination, excellent equipment, and a variety of skills. Unless, like Yang Feng, one possessed overwhelming power to crush them outright.
The crow warriors launched their attack, followed by the crow mages. Floating above the city were Giant Eye Beasts. They spotted the crow warriors immediately and raised the alarm. The city gates opened, and hundreds of monsters charged out.
Yang Feng wondered what other professionals would do in his place. Likely, ranged attackers would first eliminate the Giant Eye Beasts, then slowly clear out the monsters within, advancing step by step. To face the city’s monsters head-on, as Yang Feng did, would surely mean certain death.
He followed the crow mages forward, tossing probing water spheres.

Level: 27
Combat Power: 5000
Speed: 6000
Spirit: 3000
Vitality: 5000
Defense: 4000
Skill: None
Compared to the flying lizard, the Forest Warrior possessed greater combat power and speed. Its defense was slightly weaker, lacking the armor of the Forest Lizard. Yet, seeing the armor worn by the Forest Warrior, Yang Feng found its 4000 defense a bit lacking.
Before the crow warriors engaged the Forest Warriors, the crow mages’ attacks had already begun.

Wind, fire, lightning, and all manner of elemental attacks rained down upon the Forest Warriors. The crow mages, with their immense spirit, unleashed devastating skill power, even surpassing the crow warriors.
After a single volley, several Forest Warriors immediately fell to the ground.
