Chapter 31: The Battle of the Strongest Travelers (Part Two)
It was Abuli who stepped forward, standing beside Zhou Yu and addressing Morrison, his words met with a fierce roar akin to a tiger’s fury.
“Is this allowed?”
“Well… there’s no rule against it,” the second-generation disciples murmured among themselves.
Jin Buhuan’s mind flashed; he turned toward the competitors’ resting area. Where his gaze landed, Nan Feng Xiaolang watched the arena with a smile.
Beside him, Nan Feng Lang chuckled softly, saying, “Elder Jin, it seems this approach works after all.”
Jin Buhuan snorted coldly and shifted his attention back to the arena.
At that moment, the white man, Jack, entered the field, issuing a challenge to Zhou Yu and Abuli. What began as a duel had now transformed into a four-way battle. The German strongman hesitated for a moment before stepping into the arena, challenging Morrison and Jack. From his perspective, the duo of Morrison and Jack had a clear advantage over Zhou Yu and Abuli. If Zhou Yu and Abuli were defeated, he would surely fall as well. Thus, he chose to side with Zhou Yu and Abuli, hoping to first eliminate the most powerful Morrison.
Zhou Yu remained silent. His sole purpose was to survive with honor, to grow stronger; he would face Morrison head-on, but he would not shy away from joining forces when outnumbered.
With a roar, Morrison, empowered in his tiger form, became a streak of yellow light charging toward Zhou Yu and Abuli. Meanwhile, Jack’s body emanated black mist, distorting and morphing within the dense fog until he became a vampire roughly two meters tall. Possessing a rare and diluted vampire bloodline, Jack had awakened fully after crossing over.
His wings quivered, and with a piercing screech, Jack transformed into a streak of black light, soaring into the sky, darting about in search of the perfect moment to strike.
Zhou Yu watched coldly, then suddenly sidestepped three paces and slashed down with his sword. The mighty iron blade swung with astonishing speed, cleaving the air and aimed directly at the charging Morrison.
Morrison, in his tiger-enhanced state, had both speed and strength fortified. The energy tiger enveloping him boosted his defenses, but this did not mean he could ignore Zhou Yu’s attack. Morrison forcibly changed his path, veering aside—only to be met head-on by a massive spiked club.
With a resounding crash, Morrison was struck and sent flying, rolling before quickly regaining his footing. Though unharmed in any substantial way, his anger flared; he glared coldly at Zhou Yu and the German strongman wielding the club.
Morrison roared once more, summoning myriad beasts to overlay themselves upon him—dozens in total.
Zuo Hao sat silently in the viewing gallery, surprised. Morrison’s strength even surpassed his own; to simultaneously activate ten beast forms was his strongest state. Were the two travelers truly so powerful?
With a sudden burst, Morrison vanished from his spot and reappeared instantly at Zhou Yu’s left, launching a punch.
Zhou Yu was momentarily distracted, and by the time he reacted, it was almost too late. Morrison’s energy-charged right fist was about to strike him, but Morrison abruptly halted and, with lightning speed, spun and punched behind him.
A tremendous crash echoed as Morrison’s right fist collided with the German strongman’s massive club, twisting the weapon out of shape. The impact sent the club flying from the German’s grasp.
Cold sweat broke out on the German’s back. He, a formidable fighter, had seized the opportunity for a classic predator-prey ploy, nearly landing a blow on Morrison, only to be stunned by Morrison’s astonishing reflexes and speed. Feeling the numbness in his battered hand, despair rose within him.
Morrison darted forward, closing in on the German, and with a lightning-fast punch, sent him hurtling away.
Zhou Yu’s heart sank. He began to regulate his breathing; Morrison’s dominance caught him off guard. He knew Morrison was strong, but not to this extent—within just a few exchanges, the German strongman was crushed.
As his mind steadied, Zhou Yu sensed subtle changes in the air. Suddenly, a ripple signaled Jack’s dive from above in his vampire form. Zhou Yu was about to strike, but Abuli acted first.
Abuli’s right arm elongated, his fist glowing faintly earth-yellow, swinging at Jack.
Jack screeched, slashing with his claws to clash directly with Abuli, but Abuli’s other fist followed swiftly. Jack was forced to defend.
Abuli’s arms stretched and contracted in rapid succession, unleashing a barrage of punches that drove Jack back into the heights above.
The spectators fell silent; the battle had fully erupted. The prowess displayed by the travelers stunned them, especially Morrison’s overwhelming strength, evoking a sense of helplessness in many hearts.
“Now it’s your turn,” Morrison’s deep voice resonated throughout the martial hall, his body cloaked in golden light as he advanced toward Zhou Yu step by step.
Zhou Yu’s expression became grave, his arm muscles tensing and vibrating.
Morrison leaped forward, attacking Zhou Yu.
In a flash, his powerful fist was already swinging.
A sudden current flickered through Zhou Yu’s vibrating arms—energy surged, allowing him to block Morrison’s punch with minimal motion in the shortest time.
With his reopened meridians, energy poured through Zhou Yu’s arms, making them stronger and faster than ever.
Yet, Morrison’s force still drove Zhou Yu back several steps.
Failing to land his blow, Morrison paused, a hint of surprise appearing in his previously indifferent eyes. “I didn’t expect your strength to be so great.” After their clash, Morrison felt a faint pain—his right fist tingled.
“Save your breath!” Zhou Yu’s right arm was nearly broken, but his newly repaired limbs healed faster than before, recovering almost instantly.
“Unleash all your power and prepare to face the storm,” Morrison said coldly, as his golden aura shifted to blue, radiating from the watch on his wrist.
Zhou Yu gritted his teeth. “Duena, ready for battle!”
Green waves of light emanated from Zhou Yu’s wristwatch, enveloping a three-meter radius around him. Within the spherical space, electrical currents crackled, filling the air with sharp buzzing.
Morrison spoke no more. With a heavy step, he shattered the stone beneath his feet and transformed into a swift, pale blue light, charging at Zhou Yu and entering the green glow.
At this moment, Duena and Zhou Yu became one. Within the circle of green light, every subtle change was instantly relayed to Zhou Yu’s mind. As Morrison rushed in, Zhou Yu predicted his move with perfect precision, energy surging from countless cells as he launched his fist.
With a thunderous crash, Morrison was forced out of the green light; he clearly knew Zhou Yu held the advantage within its bounds.
Zhou Yu staggered back several steps before finally steadying himself.
Morrison immediately transformed into a streak of light and attacked again.
Zhou Yu unleashed his full power, astonishing the spectators even more.
“Who would’ve thought that black-haired kid could withstand the bald one’s attack?”
“I doubt I could handle an assault of that magnitude.”
“The bald guy’s attacking again! It seems his strength is greater; the kid can only defend, he’s being battered with no way to strike back.”
Morrison, as a pale blue stream of light, launched attacks from all directions against Zhou Yu, who remained within the green glow.
Each time, Zhou Yu was forced into direct confrontation. Gradually, blood began to trickle from his mouth.
