“Is something wrong?”

Old White squeezed in from the side, taking up half of Luo Xiu’s view.

“Oh, it’s Lord Frey and his attendants.”

After a glance, Old White looked away and sat back behind the counter.

“Frey?”

Luo Xiu turned back in confusion.

“Luo Xiu, you really should subscribe to the town’s daily newspaper. It only costs three copper coins a month, and from the ‘Bantanda News’ column, you can get the names of the entire Bantanda lord’s family.”

Old White spoke up:

“Frey is the name of the third son of the Lord of Bantanda.”

So it really was the third son of the Lord of Bantanda?

Luo Xiu continued to look through the small window toward the outside.

So that elf beside him was the one who shot down two adventurers with a single arrow in the guild?

Indeed, she looked not to be trifled with.

The cold gaze that elf cast at the kneeling people reminded Luo Xiu of the look from a certain mad dragon, though they were different in type.

But from a certain perspective, they were quite alike—both didn’t regard humans as humans.

It made one inexplicably angry.

“Old White, what’s the name of that elf?”

“Hill, ‘Etiquette Enforcer’ Hill.”

Old White’s lips curled up:

“If she heard you use ‘just’ as a quantifier for her, she’d shoot you full of holes.”

“Is she bad-tempered? How does she compare to the red dragon Tasanya?”

Luo Xiu asked.

“You know Tasanya? My goodness, you deserve a ‘Wheel Town’ scholarship for your knowledge!”

Old White teased sarcastically, then said:

“She’s about the same as that red dragon.”

“These non-human races always have peculiar quirks. For example, Hill is called the Etiquette Enforcer because she has her own code of manners.”

“If you don’t follow her etiquette, she’ll shoot you with an arrow.”

Luo Xiu looked at those kneeling on the ground and asked:

“Like the kneeling ritual?”

“Correct, you really are clever.”

Old White cheerfully sipped his tea:

“Have you eaten breakfast? If you have, I suggest you stop watching; otherwise, the copper coins you spent on breakfast are wasted.”

Old White’s warning was reasonable.

Because before he finished speaking, the elf in the white high-slit dress moved.

She looked coldly at a wandering merchant who had secretly lifted his head and said with a dull tone:

“Looking directly at Lord Frey’s noble face, one arrow penalty.”

The wandering merchant immediately shouted for mercy repeatedly.

But Hill’s expression remained unchanged as she slowly drew her bow from behind.

The merchant, seeing no chance of escape, panicked and stood up to run.

Hill silently watched his clumsy retreat, then pulled the bowstring.

A faint green light slowly gathered with the draw, eventually forming a green glowing arrow.

Whizz!

The light arrow easily caught the fleeing merchant and pinned him to a nearby wall.

Blood splattered.

“One arrow penalty. Public display for seven days, the arrow shall not be removed within that time.”

Hill spoke calmly.

Her expression never changed from start to finish.

It was as if the one dying wasn’t a person, but an ant.

“Tsk.”

Luo Xiu frowned and clicked his tongue.

Too familiar.

This scene was too similar to what he experienced last night.

As if dead memories were attacking him, making him feel very uneasy.

Upon hearing Luo Xiu’s “tsk” sound, Old White said dismissively:

“Someone died? Take a look, don’t make a fuss. People die every day. You’re not planning to run out and be a hero, are you? Our great Goblin Slayer?”

Luo Xiu shook his head.

Of course not.

Not to mention he was being hunted himself, and he didn’t even know the deceased.

Just as he was about to look away, an unexpected figure suddenly appeared in his sight.

His pupils shrank sharply.

That signature crimson hair, tall stature, terrifying chest, dark brown skin, and that face Luo Xiu would never forget.

Red Dragon Tasanya!

Has she been chasing after me all the way here?

“Old White, I might have to leave.”

Luo Xiu said.

“Leave? Have Hill and Lord Frey already left?”

Old White teased the parrot on his shoulder and didn’t take it seriously.

“No, it’s Tasanya who has arrived.”

As soon as Luo Xiu finished speaking, Old White eagerly squeezed over again:

“The red dragon’s here too? Let me see!”

He looked at the two standing opposite each other, Hill and Tasanya, excitement written all over his face:

“A rare battleground. Why is the red dragon covered in blood? Her breastplate is torn, looks corroded by something.”

“Is she injured? Who around here could hurt her like that...?”

He looked up at Luo Xiu:

“Why do you want to leave when the red dragon is here? You’ll get pulverized if you go out now, won’t you?”

“Because she might be here looking for me.”

Luo Xiu admitted calmly.

“You provoked her?”

Old White gave Luo Xiu a puzzled look:

“Little Luo Xiu, bragging isn’t a good habit. If you provoked her, you wouldn’t be standing here talking to me in one piece.”

“That’s the truth.”

Luo Xiu smiled.

Looks like his record was quite impressive.

Seeing Luo Xiu wasn’t joking, Old White paced back and forth and said:

“Maybe she’s not here looking for you?”

Hearing that, Luo Xiu smiled strangely.

He looked at Old White:

“Old White, that doesn’t sound like you. I thought you’d rush out the door yelling, ‘This guy’s here!’”

“What kind of words are those?!”

Old White said angrily.

After a moment of silence, he sat back behind the counter, murmuring:

“You’re not much of a person, your words are harsh, and you’re stingy, but you come to chat with me every week...”

Luo Xiu wasn’t sure if he was being insulted or complimented, and felt both amused and helpless.

“Yes, Old White, I consider us friends.”

Luo Xiu said.

Hearing the word ‘friends,’ Old White seemed to recall something, his expression distant, muttering:

“Barely.”

“So can you sell me that general skills book for cheaper?”

“Six thousand copper coins.”

Old White snapped back to normal and growled:

“No bargaining!”

Luo Xiu smiled.

Old White’s words reminded him that, though he adhered to the principle of not causing trouble for others and would leave eventually, what if this red dragon wasn’t here for him?

With that thought, he looked outside.

“I’m here to find someone. Don’t block my way.”

Tasanya looked at the elf opposite her and curled her lips, revealing her trademark sharp teeth.

“This is Lord Frey’s place. According to etiquette, whatever you intend, you must wait until Lord Frey leaves.”

Hill’s expression was cold.

“Then let’s fight.”

Tasanya was eager.

“You look seriously injured.”

Hill took down her bow from her back.

“That won’t stop me from crushing you.”

Tasanya grinned, and her draconic aura subtly manifested.

A fierce battle seemed imminent.

But the next moment, the man standing beside Hill patted her shoulder, signaling her to lower her bow.

He smiled at Tasanya and said:

“Tasanya, where’s Will? Haven’t seen him around lately.”

The draconic aura vanished.

“Lord Will likes to disguise himself as an ordinary person and hunt with adventurers, you know that, Lord Frey.”

Tasanya smiled.

“Oh, that’s so. I thought he was dead since we haven’t seen him for so long.”

Frey’s words fell.

This time, not only did the draconic aura vanish, but Tasanya’s smile also disappeared.

“Lord Frey, be careful with your words.”

Tasanya’s threat didn’t seem to faze Frey, who laughed:

“Just joking. I only hope you take good care of him. After all, you know what happens if our father’s favorite son gets into trouble, right?”

Tasanya fell silent.

“By the way, you said you came to find someone. Who is it? Will?”

Frey’s smile was innocent but his words coiled around Tasanya like a constricting snake.

Luo Xiu watched this scene from behind the door, and suddenly a bold idea surged in his mind.

He looked at the worried Old White and said:

“Old White, want to make a bet?”

“A bet? What kind of bet?”

Old White raised an eyebrow.

“I bet if I go out now and whistle at that elf, Tasanya will applaud me. What do you think?”

“The stakes are that general skills book.”
