Wishing everyone a happy weekend!

Bald-headed Liu Fei and his gang noticed the shifting expression on Liang Lingzhi’s face and couldn’t help but lean in to ask, “Brother Zhi, is that guy really someone important?”

Liang Lingzhi pondered silently, “This is very different from what Xiao Li’s information told me. Could the plan have been moved forward again?” He squinted, eyes cold. “His name is He Wentian, English name N. He’s got quite the background. Just make sure we don’t mess with him and we’ll be fine.”

Xu Si, following behind them, dared not speak, only listening to Liang Lingzhi and his crew. He heard Liu Fei ask, “If he’s really influential, he must have a lot of enemies too. If someone attacks him, should we help or stay out of it?”

Liang Lingzhi sneered, “Being neutral would be ideal, but in prison, who can stay neutral? He’s bound to stir up a mess here.”

Liu Fei rubbed his bald head, puzzled. “Brother Zhi, you’re making it sound deep… I don’t quite get it.”

Liang Lingzhi lowered his voice, “Do you all want to make money? Want to stand out?”

Liu Fei and his crew responded in unison, “Of course! We dream of getting rich!”

Liang Lingzhi chuckled, “Then we have to help him. His money isn’t easy to earn, but the profits…” He paused, making a clicking sound with his tongue.

Liu Fei’s heart lit up, “Even Brother Zhi, the rich kid, thinks there’s something big here. He Wentian must be the richest of the rich!”

Just then, Ye Dong was escorted by prison guards onto the large exercise yard, and immediately someone started cursing, “He Wentian, to hell with you and your family!”

“Son! Even you ended up behind bars!?”

“He Wentian, your end is near!”

The insults aimed at “He Wentian” echoed back and forth, but Ye Dong didn’t spare them a glance. Instead, he wore a wicked, sinister expression and strode into cell 1024.

Seeing Ye Dong’s demeanor, Liang Lingzhi felt a chill run down his spine, “Ye Dong, Ye Dong, he’s changed?”

The shackles on Ye Dong were unlocked, and the prison guard gave the usual warnings before leaving. Before the murmurs in the cell could begin, Ye Dong spoke first. He swept his gaze over the inmates and said coldly, “Who’s in charge here? Step forward.”

Seven or eight inmates sitting on their beds all looked to a burly, dark-skinned man, snickering, “Brother Xi, this new guy is pretty cocky!”

Brother Xi flipped off the bed, landing on the floor. “We’re not messing with you, but you want to act like you own the place?”

Ye Dong ignored Brother Xi’s words and continued, “From now on, I’m in charge here.”

Brother Xi glanced at his gang, who instantly surrounded Ye Dong, “Looking for trouble, huh?!”

Ye Dong extended his index finger, tapping Brother Xi’s nose several times. “When I, He Wentian, say one, it’s one. When I say two, it’s two. I say I’m in charge here, so from now on, I’m in charge!”

Brother Xi didn’t hesitate, swinging a punch at Ye Dong’s face! Ye Dong seemed to have anticipated the attack. He half-crouched, and his foot shot out from behind him, mercilessly connecting with Brother Xi’s face, sending him flying three meters across the cell!

Boom! Brother Xi’s body crashed into the bed with a thunderous sound!

“Damn you!”

Seeing their boss beaten, Brother Xi’s men rushed Ye Dong. Ye Dong laughed madly, fists and feet flying, knocking down three attackers in an instant!

The rest of the inmates, seeing Ye Dong’s ferocity, immediately lost their nerve. As he advanced step by step, they retreated, protesting, “Don’t get too cocky!”

Ye Dong blew air onto his fist, lamenting, “A bunch of losers! Not one of you is worth my time!”

He kicked aside a prisoner clutching his chest on the floor, then strode over to Brother Xi, raising his fist for another punch. “I asked you a question, and you haven’t answered!”

Brother Xi took Ye Dong’s punch squarely, losing two teeth and crying out in terror, “Big brother, what question did you ask?!”

Ye Dong shook his head, raining blows down on Brother Xi. “I hate when people ignore what I say!”

The other inmates, realizing Ye Dong was intent on beating Brother Xi to death, felt a chill of fear, “Someone’s going to die! He’s going to kill him!”

When Brother Xi finally passed out, Ye Dong turned to the next most arrogant inmate, delivering a heavy kick. “You didn’t answer me either!”

“Brother Nan!!”

The one called Brother Nan, already nursing a chest injury from Ye Dong, now took a kick to the back and rolled on the ground in agony. “I get it, I get it! From now on, you’re in charge!”

Ye Dong spat on him, “Consider yourself lucky!”

Woo woo!

The alarm blared. A swarm of guards rushed into cell 1024. “Everyone, hands on your heads, squat down! Now! Immediately!”

Ye Dong smiled faintly, hands on his head, then sat right down on Brother Nan.

In the surveillance room, Hui Yan watched in shock, “Is that really Ye Dong?!” A twinge of unease grew inside her. “How did things end up like this?”

The inmates from cell 1024 were escorted outside for punishment. Unsurprisingly, Ye Dong was crowned today’s prison star.

Seeing the battered faces of everyone from cell 1024, except Ye Dong who was completely unscathed, Liang Lingzhi, squatting on the yard, felt uneasy. “Something’s wrong with Ye Dong. He’s not following the script at all!”

Liang Lingzhi and Liu Fei started whispering again. Xu Si, though too timid to join in, could see clearly that Ye Dong had dominated the confrontation. “He Wentian really is not someone to mess with!”

A guard, baton in hand, walked over to the now-awake Brother Xi. “Xi, how did you get so badly hurt? What happened?”

Brother Xi, clutching his mouth, sobbed, “I was just lying in bed, and he came in and beat me up, boohoo.”

Apparently dazed from the beating, the burly Brother Xi actually started crying.

Brother Nan added, “We tried to break up the fight and he beat us too!”

The inmates all talked at once, embellishing the story, while Ye Dong himself said nothing, only crouched on the ground with a wicked smile.

At that moment, a senior guard approached with a document. “Who’s He Wentian here?”

All the inmates looked at Ye Dong, snickering inwardly, “Now you’re done for, you’re getting solitary!”

“I am,” Ye Dong snapped his fingers at the guard.

The guard nodded, “He Wentian, you got lucky. The charges against you have been dropped. You’re free to go.”

“What!?” Brother Xi and the others were dumbfounded. “He beat us up and they’re just letting him go?!”

The guard sneered, “Seven or eight of you got beaten by one guy? Who’d believe that? Keep whining and I’ll put you all in solitary!”

The prisoners in the yard broke out in uproar, “Did the guard take a bribe?!”

“Damn you, He Wentian, so what if you’re rich?!”

Some inmates who had grudges against He Wentian, undeterred by the guards’ batons, pointed at Ye Dong and cursed, “Corruption!”

Xu Si looked at the bruised faces of Brother Xi and Brother Nan and could feel He Wentian’s domineering presence.

Ye Dong ignored the insults, laughing wildly as he followed the senior guard out!

“Damn it, don’t let him get away!” A scar-faced inmate glanced at his crew, shoved aside a guard, and lunged at Ye Dong. “He Wentian, your life is mine!”
