Chapter One: My System Is a Bit Extraordinary
"The title of Pirate King is optional, but Momonosuke must die."—A maxim of Shu Mingyuan.
East Blue, Goa Kingdom, Fishing Village.
This was a small village on Dawn Island, with barely fifty households. Now, fires blazed in many corners, and some commoners lay in pools of blood, their cold bodies already devoid of breath.
Shu Mingyuan was hiding in a rice jar, clutching his knees tightly as he listened to the sounds of slaughter echoing from outside.
Bang!
Suddenly, his door was violently kicked open. His whole body began to tremble.
"Am I really going to die here today? Damn this system, how on earth do I use it?" he thought desperately.
This was his eighth year in this world. After finishing the latest episode of One Piece following Naruto, a powerful electric current surged through his mouse, knocking him unconscious. When he woke, he found himself inexplicably in a fishing village, and, to his shock, he had become a seven-year-old child.
From the moment he awoke, he discovered a system shop in his mind. Over the following days, he realized he had traversed into the world of One Piece.
He had only felt guilty at first—for his mother on Earth, for being an unfilial son who would never again serve her. But that guilt soon gave way to overwhelming excitement.
In this world, the villagers called him Monki D. Shu Mingyuan. Why Monki and not Monkey, he wondered. Was he a descendant of Garp? Or somehow related to Dragon or Luffy in some obscure, convoluted way? Even though only one character differed, the implications were entirely different.
Perhaps the local people made a mistake? Was his true name Monkey D. Shu Mingyuan?
But after asking around, he was disappointed to learn that, in their memories, he was an orphan who had floated here seven years ago, carried by the current, with nothing but a wooden tag bearing the name Monki D. Shu Mingyuan. The tag had long since vanished, and he had no memories tying him to any of that family.
Still, the name hardly mattered. On Earth, he was an anime fanatic. Having watched One Piece countless times, he was intimately familiar with every plotline. And now, with a system at his side, he fantasized about using his innate bug-like abilities to rise to power—devil fruits, the One Piece, countless beauties, all would soon be his.
But reality hit hard. The heavens had played a cruel joke: no matter what he tried, the system would not activate.
He was left utterly despondent.
All those legends about Systems of the Primordial Era, Invincible Systems, Red Envelope Systems, Sword God Systems, Technology Systems—they were all lies!
At first, he thought that, even without a system, he could at least train hard or find a devil fruit to gain strength, then use his knowledge of the plot to carve out a place for himself in this world.
But after half a year of intense training, he found his strength barely increased, his stamina only slightly better than before. He scoured the entire island but never found a single oddly-shaped fruit.
Eventually, he had to accept the bitter truth: he was just a useless transmigrant, destined to live an ordinary life here.
A mountain bandit burst in, wielding a bloody broadsword. Scanning the humble furnishings, the bandit grew irritated—there was nothing worth stealing. In a fit of rage, he smashed everything to pieces with his axe.
Then, with a kick, he shattered the rice jar. Shu Mingyuan tumbled out, screaming.
"Well, well, there’s a little brat hiding here. Fair-skinned and tender—could fetch a good price," the bandit sneered.
The bandit was a burly man; he grabbed the boy and dragged him outside.
"No! I cannot be sold as a slave!" Shu Mingyuan struggled fiercely, shouting. He knew that in this world, being sold into slavery meant a lifetime’s mark—a fate of misery and torment.
Having lived two lives, his soul still yearned for the freedom of his previous world. How could he submit to bondage?
Suddenly, he drew the dagger hidden at his ankle and, catching the bandit off guard, plunged it deep into the man’s neck.
The bandit’s eyes bulged as blood spurted from a gaping wound, his life draining away in a crimson torrent. He convulsed on the ground, then lay still, lifeless.
Shu Mingyuan slumped to the floor, gasping for air. Staring at the blood-soaked corpse, a wave of terror washed over him.
Had he just killed someone? Yet, having lived two lives, he was far more resilient than most. He understood that in the world of pirates, only the strong survive; if you don’t kill, you will be killed.
After a few deep breaths, he regained his composure. Just then, a strange voice sounded in his mind.
"Successfully killed an evildoer. Congratulations, host, the system is now activated. Scanning target: low-level villain. You have received 1 Justice Point. As this is your first system activation, you are awarded 10 bonus Justice Points and one exchange opportunity. Would you like to proceed?"
Staring at the pop-up window, Shu Mingyuan was stunned. By sheer accident, killing someone had actually activated the system he thought useless. He nearly cursed aloud—why hadn’t it told him earlier that killing a villain would unlock it?
He felt like crying. At the time of his arrival, he’d only been seven, unarmed and powerless—how could he have killed anyone?
Grumbling under his breath, he immediately confirmed the exchange. The interface before him transformed—now titled: Infinite Ninjutsu Exchange System!
It didn’t sell ordinary goods, but a range of jutsu he knew all too well from the world of Naruto!
Chidori, Raikiri, Rasengan, Shadow Clone Technique, Taijutsu, Eight Trigrams Palm, Summoning Jutsu, Reaper Death Seal, Planetary Devastation, Eight Gates, Byakugan, Sharingan, Rinnegan, Tenseigan, various bloodline limits, Flying Thunder God, Kamui, Tailed Beasts… the list went on.
Shu Mingyuan was dumbfounded. Then, elation surged within him. Not only was this system not useless—it was an utterly overpowered, divine artifact! For eight years he had possessed a treasure without knowing how to use it.
He gazed at the legendary jutsu populating the list, licking his lips. With this system, how could he resign himself to mediocrity?
But every jutsu required Justice Points to exchange, and the most powerful ones—capable of destroying worlds—cost a million or more.
He looked at his meager eleven Justice Points and gave a wry smile. To achieve the power of the Sage of Six Paths, how long would that take?
"With eleven Justice Points, I probably can only afford a low-level jutsu," he thought, scrolling to the top. Sure enough, only a few basic jutsu were available—Clone Technique, Transformation Jutsu, Shadow Shuriken, Four-Legged Technique, Leaf Whirlwind… all rather unimpressive.
But as he scrolled further, he suddenly spotted an A-rank jutsu at the bottom—Chidori! Marked with a note: "A-rank Ninjutsu, Chidori! System flash sale: only 10 Justice Points. Limited time offer!"
Just then, Shu Mingyuan’s earlier commotion attracted more bandits. Four of them burst into the hut together. Without hesitation, Shu Mingyuan selected Chidori in the system and clicked "exchange."
