Qi Yu hesitated for a moment, about to refuse, when Yao Yao suddenly stepped forward two paces and said coldly, "No need to accept you as a master!"
The old man looked at Yao Yao in surprise.
Yao Yao’s expression was icy as she met the old man’s gaze.
He couldn’t discern the cultivation level of this young girl before him.
Suddenly, the old man let out a faint chuckle, turned, and patted Qi Yu’s shoulder. “Heh heh, it seems this old fool has been dull. Young friend, consider today’s matter as me owing you a favor.”
But Yao Yao was not satisfied. “You are nearing the end of your days, and this thread of sword intent not only extends your lifespan but also boosts your cultivation by a level. You only want to repay it with a favor?”
The old man smiled and asked, “Then what does the fairy think would be appropriate?”
Yao Yao cleared her throat lightly. “Medicinal pills, cultivation techniques, martial skills, spirit stones—you’ve lived so long, surely you have many treasures. Let Qi Yu pick from them!”
The old man lowered his brows to ponder a moment, then nodded. “Very well. But these external possessions I usually do not carry on me.”
Yao Yao was blunt. “Then leave behind a token.”
Qi Yu leaned toward Yao Yao and whispered, “Sister Yao Yao, isn’t this a bit much?”
Yao Yao’s expression darkened. “What’s wrong with it? He took your father’s sword intent; he should repay it. It’s his debt to you!”
“You must understand, the strong are never purely kind-hearted!”
Qi Yu fell silent. In the Eastern Divine Continent, strength was supreme. To become strong, one must stop at nothing—contend with others, contend with heaven. Whenever there’s a chance, all means are used.
“May I ask the honored elder’s name?”
Qi Yu cupped his hands and asked.
The old man stroked his white beard and smiled warmly. “I am Su Kaishan, an old fool.”
“Su Kaishan?”
Qi Yu murmured, then suddenly widened his eyes in shock. “Su Kaishan, the ancestor of the Su family!”
This man before him was indeed Su Ze’an’s ancestor, the great-grandfather of the Second Elder!
Qi Yu knew well that much of the reason he had been forced into the deep mountains was the doing of the Second Elder, and that the Su family genius Su Ze’an had died by his hand.
The Su family was known for retaliating fiercely. If the Su family patriarch learned of all these grievances, would he unhesitatingly strike Qi Yu down?
Yao Yao pressed further: “Not only material compensation, but if Qi Yu encounters trouble in the future, you must answer every request.”
Su Kaishan laughed heartily and nodded in agreement. “Very well, very well!”
With that, Su Kaishan took a jade pendant from his bosom and handed it to Qi Yu. “This jade pendant will serve as a token between us. If you ever need my help, just inject spiritual energy into it.”
Qi Yu accepted the pendant and nodded in thanks.
Su Kaishan leaned on his cane and left. Yao Yao tapped Qi Yu’s forehead in displeasure.
“You—this old relic surely has many treasures. Don’t be soft-hearted.”
Little Fish chimed in from the side, “Exactly, Brother Qi Yu, I smelled medicinal pills on him just now. Maybe he’s an alchemist.”
Qi Yu said nothing. His gaze rested on the tombstone as he sighed deeply and turned to leave.
Not long after Qi Yu departed, a figure dashed out from the nearby forest.
It was the black-clad man who had appeared earlier in the Second Elder’s secret chamber. Watching Qi Yu’s figure fade into the distance, he muttered, “Why is this useless wretch still alive? Did the Silver Fox fail?”
“Better go back and report to the clan elder first!”
After some thought, the black-clad man turned and left.

Demonic God Sword Domain.
A gigantic tiger-like demon beast roared fiercely and charged at the sword-wielding youth standing before it.
A first-tier fierce beast of the demon realm—the Flame Tiger!
The Flame Tiger’s body was engulfed in orange flames, and as it dashed across the ground, it ignited a blazing inferno.
Yao Yao and Little Fish sat atop a giant sword, watching the upright figure of the youth.
The Flame Tiger lunged up, its sharp claws wrapped in roaring flames, striking down fiercely.
Whoosh!
A flash of sword light, and Qi Yu thrust his sword.
Mid-air, the Flame Tiger’s corpse unnaturally separated.
Boom! Boom!
Two muffled sounds as the flames around the Flame Tiger extinguished, its body and head landing apart.
Qi Yu remained standing in place, not moving a step.
On the giant sword, Little Fish danced excitedly.
“Brother Qi Yu is amazing!”
Yao Yao curled her lips. “It’s just a lowest-level first-tier demon beast. What’s there to brag about?”
Little Fish blinked her big eyes sincerely. “Then Sister Yao Yao, why don’t you summon a third-tier demon beast?”
A third-tier beast was roughly equal to a Xuanwu Realm cultivator, but Qi Yu was only at the first level of that realm—he could never match a third-tier demon beast.
Yao Yao smirked. “Little Fish, why don’t you go practice with Qi Yu?”
Little Fish’s eyes sparkled. She stood up from the giant sword. “Alright, alright.”
Then she stepped onto an iron chain and descended while walking. “Brother Qi Yu, I’ll be your opponent now!”
Qi Yu was stunned, looking at Little Fish who was not even as tall as his legs. “Huh? You?”
Little Fish came before Qi Yu, tilting her head with puppy-like eyes. “Brother Qi Yu, I won’t go easy on you!”
With that, she vanished in an instant.
Qi Yu’s pupils contracted sharply as a fierce gale hit from behind. Before he could turn—
Boom!
Qi Yu staggered from a kick by Little Fish and barely steadied himself by brandishing his sword.
“Brother Qi Yu, I’m really strong—don’t underestimate me!”
Little Fish smiled innocently. If Qi Yu hadn’t just taken that kick, it’d be hard to imagine how fast she really was.
Qi Yu smirked and said, “Alright, Little Fish, watch this!”
At his words, countless sword shadows swept toward Little Fish!
The clinking of swords rang endlessly.
Yet Little Fish remained calm, slowly raising one hand, transforming her palm into a finger, and struck swiftly.

Ding!
Countless sword shadows instantly gathered.
Qi Yu stared in disbelief as Little Fish pinched the tip of the Cold Cicada Sword between her chubby two fingers and it could not break free!
“This…”
Shock was no longer the word—this was terrifying!
Qi Yu’s eyes widened, completely unable to discern the true cultivation realm of the seemingly harmless Little Fish.
Clang!
Little Fish flicked the sword tip, and the Cold Cicada Sword emitted a crisp clang.
“Brother Qi Yu, cheer up! Just meeting me today is a win!”
Qi Yu swallowed nervously. “Little Fish, is this your full strength?”
Little Fish shook her head, thinking a moment. “Sister Yao Yao said I only need to use one layer.”
Qi Yu’s mouth twitched as he unconsciously touched his right arm. If he unleashed his bloodline power, his strength would multiply several times.
But his will couldn’t contain the ferocity of his bloodline power—it would throw him into a loss of control.
And it could only last for fifty breaths before he would fall into extreme weakness.
“Little Fish, why do I lose control when I activate my bloodline power?”
Qi Yu frowned and asked.
Little Fish thought for a moment. “The bloodline power is always inside your body. You have to find a way to suppress its ferocity—to make it serve you.”
Qi Yu asked urgently, “How do I suppress it?”
Little Fish shook her head. “It’s your own bloodline power, so you have to figure out the way yourself!”
Qi Yu closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and when he opened them again, a streak of scarlet dyed his pupils, and a dark red mark appeared on his brow.
“Brother Qi Yu, you…”
Little Fish watched in surprise as Qi Yu’s right arm gradually became engulfed in black-purple flames.
Qi Yu’s expression twisted fiercely; he held his head with both hands, struggling to control his impending loss of reason.
A violent murderous aura rampaged inside him, breaking through his sanity.
“Roar!”
Qi Yu howled, his eyes blood-red, two fangs protruding from his mouth like a mad demon.
“It’s over—he’s lost control again!”
Little Fish sighed helplessly, patting her own forehead.
Though Qi Yu was frenzied now, a trace of reason still remained. It was unimaginable—this was only a partial awakening of his bloodline power. If fully awakened, he might not even know how he died!
